Eugene Godfrey, age 83 of Ellijay, Georgia passed from this life on Saturday, September 5, 2015. He was born August 14, 1932 to his late parents Preston and Rosa Wheeler Godfrey in Pickens County, Georgia. He was self employed as a farmer.

Survivors include wife Patsy Godfrey of the home in Ellijay; daughters and sons-in-law Kathy & Daryl Williams of Ball Ground, GA., Lisa & Ricky Wingard of Ellijay; grandchildren Jason D. & Kim Williams, Kylie Williams, Nate Wingard; great grandchildren Andrew Hensley, Tyler Hensley, Preston Williams, Morgan Powell, Madison Powell, J.D. Williams; sisters Lois Wright of Ellijay; brothers, Bernard Godfrey of Jasper, GA, Melvin (Marsha) Godfrey of Ellijay; sister-in-law & brother-in-law Althea Godfrey of Jasper, GA, Jimmie Sue Godfrey of Talking Rock, Ralph Burgess, Vera (Clyde) Beal of Ellijay, Fred Ponder and Randall (Sharlene Ponder of Ellijay.

A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday September 7th, 2015 at Cross Roads Baptist Church located in Pickens County with Rev. Robert Allen, Rev. Mark Henson and Rev. Edwin Bishop officiating..

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
