Mr. Jerry Don Pankey age 69 of Ellijay died Thursday October 22, 2015.
Mr. Pankey was born March 5, 1946 in Gilmer County the son of the late Aaron Pankey and Nila Chastain Pankey. He was a member of the Ridgeway Baptist Church and was employed by Gilmer County Board of Education in the bus garage. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cecil Pankey.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law: Regina and Jeff Watkins, Ellijay, grandchildren, Hannah Watkins , Hunter Watkins, mother of his daughter Betty Raikes, Dalton, niece, Susan Diamond, nephew, J.C. Pankey, step-daughter- Kimberley Nicholson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00pm from the Ridgeway Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Davis and Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Friday from 5 until 9pm at the funeral home.
