More Treachery! What Do We Expect?
Opinion October 27, 2015
Opinion by George McClellan:
It can only be in the dying throes of a failed leadership that a party can still believe it has the ability to thwart the will of an aroused conservative electorate by trying to convince us that the debt ceiling must be raised. What Republican congressman could possibly have called this “raising the debt ceiling” deal, agreed to behind close doors, a good deal for the Republican Party; I want to know? This is a good test for primary challenges.
Lame Duck Speaker, John Boehner’s last hurrah, before turning over the keys to the Speakers Office, presumably to Paul Ryan who, by the way, has already announced his new Chief of Staff will be David Hoppe, a Chamber of Commerce lobbyist, is steadfastly determined to sabotage Conservatives before he leaves office. Agreeing to this Debt Ceiling act continues to negate the constitutional authority of Congress to legislate tax payer funds. Is there not a whiff of GOP corruption detected here? We must be fools, but, what do we expect? We keep re-electing ‘em.
Our new Senator, Mr. David Perdue, who is a political novice but a successful businessman, stated “while the debt crisis is a key challenge facing the federal government, it would be irresponsible not to raise the nation’s debt ceiling while working on a long-term solution.” Sen. Perdue is casting his line in the right pool but is bringing up “bottom suckers.” The Senator is looking for a “long term” solution but they’ve have been doing that for half a century.
I do not doubt the Senator’s genuine deep concern but, the larger picture is America’s economic destruction at Obama’s hands is imminent and we can wait no longer for the planets to align to find relief. It is now time to seriously accept how this hijacked government really works and start its total destruction. The correction will be brutal but there’s nothing for it! Start with incumbents.
In the meantime, Obama is inviting into America the Islamic hounds of hell and they are already braying at the gates. The Soc. Sec. cost of living increase we are not getting will go to these people. The GOP wants to increase defense spending but not until the democrats want to buy more voters with increased entitlement spending. Is that the deal Boehner has agreed to?
Sen. Perdue correctly realizes that while the military desperately needs to be rebuilt, there will be no compromise using the debt limit as leverage between Obama and the GOP. Apparently Sen. Perdue has bought into that safe old GOP solution of kicking the can down the road, something the GOP has grown so used to doing for the past fifty years while nothing ever gets done to rein in government spending.
Speaking of failed Liberalism, it is no secret that Puerto Rico is now totally broke, financially. However, it cannot declare bankruptcy because it’s not a business under the rules. Obama has included a stipulation in this debt ceiling act, to grant Puerto Rico a waiver of $75 Billion so they can declare bankruptcy making you and I guaranteers of their debt. How’s that for change? One wonders how fast Illinois and the other Blue States, will get in line with their hands out if that stupid idea passes. Ask your senator or congressman how they feel about that idea.
Sen. Perdue properly see entitlement spending as the economic black hole into which billions of tax payer dollars are poured to support fairy tale programs and enslave Democrat voters. Can we agree that all of Obama’s fiscal spending policies are disasters except to his cronies? We need willing conservatives to make the changes. Out with the old, in with the new. Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (27 October 2015)
