  • Why are you running?

“I was encouraged to run by some friends of mine.”

 

  • What are your qualifications? Any other posts in Local government?

“I have been president of UMW Noon Circle, but have no political experience. I have also been a Teacher and administrator. I have experience with working with varying groups of people.”

 

  • What is one thing you hope to accomplish if (re)-elected

“To achieve a good balance between business and having a good place to live and good place to raise a family. I want to help businesses thrive, but make sure Ellijay is still a good place to live.”

 

  • What services, If any, would you take away or add to the city of ellijay?/Would you increase spending with any line item?

 

“ I would add garbage services.”

 

  • With added services, there comes a need to balance the budget, what would you do to balance the budget?

“I don’t know how it could be financed at this point, but I plan to study the budget to see if anything can be cut to provide those funds.”

 

 

  • If services are cut, would you cut taxes for citizens, keep them where they are, or raise taxes to give the city some money in the bank?

  • What sort of program(s) or policy(s) would you institute to encourage growth in Ellijay?

“I think a Performing Arts Center with all areas of performing arts (Dance, Drama, Visual Art) would help grow the city.”

 

  • What sort of policies do you support dealing with the amount and type of liquor that can be dispensed in the city limits and

“I feel that there should be pouring limits and of course monitor condition of customers; I also feel there is not a current need for additional alcohol; Probably no one besides downtown will apply for a liquor license anyway”

 

  • Do you want only certain ways to dispense alcohol within the city limits?

  • Do you Support Sunday Liquor sales?

  • Are you for any limitations as to where alcohol is sold?                                                                 “Restaurants are the only place that need alcohol..”
