This week’s theme is “Dream, Wish, Imagine”. November’s story themes are all about dreams, wishes, etc. All ages welcome. Story time is always followed by a simple craft you can may complete with your child.
Puppet Show

Join us for our Thanksgiving themed puppet show which is followed by a simple craft. Kids 9 and under with adult supervision please.
LapSit Storytime

“Dream, Wish, Imagine”. LapSit is a great way to introduce early literacy skills to your child. Ages 1-3 with an adult.

Teen Book Club – Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1

Read the book then watch the movie with us OR Watch the movie with us then read the book. Either way is fine with us! Ages 12-20.

Leslie Thomas – Trail of Tears

November is Native American Heritage Month. Local historian and Director of The Tabor House of Ellijay, Georgia, Leslie Thomas will speak about the Georgia Chapter of the Trail of Tears. Light refreshments will be provided.
Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, November 18 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit or crochet, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.
How to Checkout Library E-Books

GCL offers many e-book titles, but accessing them can be a challenge at times. We will show you how to access and checkout an e-book on your device. You will need an active library card and please let us know what type of device you plan on bringing.
The Friends of the Library Bookshelf
Giving thanks is the theme of the Bookshelf’s special collection for this week. We have a large group of beautiful and inspirational books, nice for yourself or for gifts.
Take a look at the “last chance” shelves where our inventory of half-priced books is refreshed weekly. You can put your payment for these books in the donations box if the Bookshelf is closed.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
