Mrs. Eva Higdon Chancey, age 94 of Cherrylog, Georgia passed on Monday morning, November 9, 2015, at the Gilmer Nursing Home.

Mrs. Chancey was born November 8, 1921 in Blue Ridge, Georgia to her late parents Samuel Newton Higdon and Dellie Sisson Higdon. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a graduate of Fannin County High School, Class of 1938. Eva worked for Levi Strauss as a seamstress. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Chesley Chancey and Claude Chancey, sisters, Jane, Maybelle, and Ruby Higdon, and brothers, Willie, Paul, Rudy, Albert, Efford, and Samuel Dee Higdon.

Mrs. Chancey is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 13th, 2015 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Kelly officiating. Music and vocals will be by Rev. Irene Wofford. Interment will be held in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015, at the Logan Funeral Home.
