Coach Leonard “Lenny” Harvey Liles, III, age 69 of the Cartecay Community, Ellijay, Georgia passed on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at his residence.

Born November 12th, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to his late father Leonard Liles, Jr. and mother, Mary Jo Liles. An honorably discharged veteran who served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Lenny was a graduate of the University of West Florida earning a bachelors degree and was employed by the Gilmer County Board Of Education. He taught high school math and was an athletics coach for the GHS football, baseball and track teams. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay serving in the Media Ministry.

Lenny is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Anderson Liles of Ellijay, GA, daughter, Leisha Liles of Knoxville, TN, sons and daughters-in-law, Lance and Aline Liles of Shalimar, FL and Lonnie and Samantha Liles of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren, Grayson, Maura and Reagan Liles, mother, Mary Jo Liles of Shalimer, FL and brother, Michael Liles of Shalimar, FL.

A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday November 25th, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with the Rev. John Bramlett officiating. Music will be led by Rev. Scott Eaton accompanied by the First Baptist Church Choir. Interment will follow in the Cartecay Baptist Church Cemetery with FBC Sunday school members and GHS coaches serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at the Logan Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Ellijay Building Fund at 164 Dalton St Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Coach Liles.
