John Francis Brackett: Obituary

Mr. John Francis Brackett age 55 of Cherry Log, GA passed at his residence on Wednesday, January 27th, 2016.

Mr. Brackett was born on August 16th, 1960 in Copperhill, TN. He was of the Baptist faith, a graduate of Fannin County High School, and also attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA. He then worked all over the southeast doing various jobs including being a power company lineman before returning home to the Fannin county area for good. He is preceded in death by his son Devin Brackett, stepson Jesse Haddock, and mother Lucille Hubbard Brackett.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Linda Smith Brackett of the home in Cherry Log, GA; Stepson Tate Haddock; Stepdaughter Nancy Haddock of Cherry Log, GA; Father Charles Brackett of Blue Ridge, GA; Brother and sister-in-law Robert and Lou Brackett of Forest Park, GA; Mother-in-law Shirley Smith of Cherry Log, GA; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, January 31st, 2016 from the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Brackett, John Watkins, Jim Robinson, Bobby Russell, Billy Tilly, Johnny Searcy, Jim Banker and Chris Brackett serving as pallbearers.

Family will receive friends from 1pm until the service hour on Sunday, January 31st, 2016 at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the John Brackett Memorial Fund at 1578 Cashes Valley Road, Cherry Log, GA 30522 in memory of Mr. Brackett.
