Mr. William Kenneth Reece, age 77, of Ellijay passed away early Thursday morning January 28th, 2016 after a seven month battle with cancer.

He was born June 24, 1938 in Gilmer co. to the late Willie and Thelma Reece and has two sisters, Jerri Stephens and Bobbie Bruce. He is survived by his wife Judy Reece, who has stood by his side for 58 years. He had three sons; Keith and Lesa Reece, Kevin and Jennifer Reece, Kris and Bryde Reece all of whom reside here in Ellijay. He had eight grandchildren; Joshua and Amber Reece, Rachel and Joshua Dobbs, Rebecca and Joel Cummings, Whitney and Kayleigh Reece, Kris and Chloe Reece, and James Wigington. Ken also had seven great grandchildren; Addie and Averi Reece, Asher Reece, Karissa Dobbs, and Mackenzie, Alexander and Owen Cummings. He had many cousins, nieces and nephews, most of whom live here in Gilmer County. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family members alike.

Kenneth was a very dedicated man. He began his adult life by first serving in the US Air Force for 5 years and then with Delta Airlines for 32 years. He also served two local churches as a trusted deacon, Bible Baptist and Pleasant Grove Baptist, spanning a time of over 50 years.

Kenneth Reece was a man of character who will be greatly missed by many. If you ever met him you were most likely impacted by him. He would reach out to help anyone in need, give great advice and could fix almost anything. Our society has lost a good one, but earth’s loss is heaven’s gain. For now he resides with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
