Mr. James Howard “Jimmy” Cantrell, age 66, of Ellijay died Sunday January 31, 2016.

Mr. Cantrell was born August 24, 1949 in Gilmer County, the son of the late Howard and Audra Mullinax Cantrell. He graduated Gilmer High School Class of 1967 and Pickens Tech in 1969, was a veteran serving with the U.S. Army and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He retired after 34 years of operating Cantrell’s Used Parts and for the past 3 years he had worked for Gilmer County Airport. He was preceded in death by parents and brother Daryll Cantrell.
Survivors include; daughter, Shelly Wingate, Ellijay, grandchildren and spouse, Corey and Haley Cantrell, Will, Cooper, Lily and Lawson Wingate. Brother and sister-in-law; Mitchell and Melanie Cantrell, Ellijay.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 3, 2016 at 11:00am from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Hood and Rev. Paul Richards officiating. Interment will in the Yukon cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 4 until 9pm at the funeral home.
