Mr. John William Bennett, Sr. age 63 of Ellijay, GA died Wednesday February 3, 2016.

Mr. Bennett was born May 6, 1952 in Cartersville, GA. He was a high school graduate and a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, GA. He is preceded in death by his father, William T. Bennett; mother, Bonnie Walker Bennett; twin daughters, Bonnie Leann and Martha Jo; sister, Brenda New.

Survivors Include: son and daughter in-law, Jody and Sandy Bennett, Ellijay, GA; daughter and son in-law, Scott and Misty Bennett Dove, of Ellijay, GA; step-mother, Joyce Bennett, Ellijay, GA; brothers, Robert Bennett, Talking Rock, GA and Leland Bennett, Hixson, TN; sister, Sue Bennett, Ellijay, GA; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Bennett, JB Dove, Justus Bennett and Paul Dove; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 6th at 11am from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Faith Chapel Church of God Prophecy Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday February 5th from 1pm until 9pm at the funeral home.
