Mr. Vincent Stephen Cipullo, age 89 of the Cartecay community, Ellijay, Georgia passed on Thursday Evening, February 25, 2016.
Mr. Cipullo was born November 30, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to his late parents Alfred and Margaret Cipullo. He was a member of the Cartecay United Methodist Church where he served as past treasurer and choir member. Mr. Cipullo served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He was a retiree of Pan American Airlines and Eastern Airlines where he was employed as an avionics mechanic. He was a volunteer tutor for math and read to students at Oakland Elementary and Gilmer Primary Schools for 13 years. A section of the Gilmer Primary School Library is dedicated to Mr. Cipullo. He was also a volunteer at Cartecary Thrift Store, and loved music, singing, cooking, Italian food, the pursuit of knowledge, books, animals, fixing things, aviation, children, and always helping those in need.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor Cipullo of the home in Ellijay, GA; Sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Karen Cipullo of Peachtree City, GA and Francis A. Cipullo of Ellijay, GA; Grandchildren and in-laws, Stephen Cipullo (Nikki), Jeanine Moore (Josh), Jessica Cipullo, Katie Cipullo, and Ryan Cipullo; Great grandchildren, Alyssa Moore, Ansleigh Moore and Ella Grey Cipullo; Special Niece Christine Graza; Special great-niece Jenna McKenna (Ryan); Several nieces and nephews, Alfred, Corrine, Diane, Margaret, Thomas, Janet and Robin; Sister, Madeline Cipullo Conti of New Jersey; Brother, Alford Cipullo of New York; and Sister-in-law Margaret Cipullo of Florida. He was preceded in death by his brother Frank Cipullo.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harden Hopper officiating. Music and vocals will be provided by Jeanetta Kelly and Susan Hoshkins. A military graveside service will immediately follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with military rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Cartecay United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Logan Funeral Home.
