Clear Creek Tennis Sweeps Fannin

The Clear Creek Middle School tennis team traveled to Blue Ridge last Wednesday, with the Bobcats and Lady Cats serving a sweep to Fannin.
In girls singles matches, Emma Callihan bested Peyton Peugh 8-2. Hope Colwell downed Emma Mitchell 8-0, while Ellie Teague won a hard-fought 8-7 affair over Abbey Smith.
Girls doubles matches featured Josie Reece and Sarah Sheahan beating Jodie Collins and Brooke Patton 8-2, while the duo of Alexis Sirmans and Morgan White defeated Payton Rogers and Elizabeth Key 8-7.
In exhibition girls doubles action, Hannah Walker and Jessica Futch bested Rylie Mason and Rogers 8-0 and the combination of Lark Reece and Kimberly Holt beat LeAnn and Lindsey Twigs 8-0.

Brady Sanford won an 8-3 boys singles match over Jake Jones, while Kaden Reece beat Jalen Ingram 8-1. A boys doubles match saw Luke Wimpey and Braden Jenkins hand Jones and Ingram an 8-1 loss.
The 5-0 Lady Cats victory puts the Clear Creek girls at 2-1 for the year, while the 3-0 Bobcats triumph leaves the Clear Creek boys at an unblemished 3-0 record for the season.
CCMS will host Lumpkin at Gilmer High School today at 4 p.m., before journeying to Pickens for another match tomorrow.
