Mrs. Eugenia Ortiz, age 73, of Ellijay, died Tuesday April 12, 2016.

Mrs. Ortiz was born November 15, 1942, in Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Gerardo and Mercedes Cruz Gonzalez. She worked in the textile industry and was a member of the Good Samaritan Catholic Church. Her brothers, Gerardo, Pedro, Ismael and Luis Ramon Gonzalez and sister, Carmon Crespo preceded her in death.

Survivors include; husband of 50 years Ruben Ortiz, SR., children; Ruben and Pamela Ortiz, JR, Wilfredo and Olga Ortiz, Marilyn Ortiz, Judith Ortiz-Gabriel, grandchildren, Ruben Felix Ortiz, Mayrangene Etheridge, Felix Ruben Ortiz, Linda Ortiz, Julianne Gabriel, Juliette Gabriel, great-grandchild, Carter Antonio Etheridge, siblings and spouses, Rafael and Eva Gonzalez, Emeterio and Lydia Gonzalez, Eladia and Ramon Nieves, Maria and Tommy Wright, Susana and Hector Gonzalez, Lucy and Victor Vargas, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11:00am at Good Samaritan Catholic Church with Father Carlos Vargas and Father Charles Byrd officiating. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Thursday from 4 until 8:00pm, with Rosary being held at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
