Gilmer Baseball Recognizes 2016 Seniors

GHS Baseball, Team FYN Sports

Prior to a region game last night against the Lafayette Ramblers, the Gilmer High School Bobcats baseball team recognized its five seniors.

Noah Ralston, #1 for the Bobcats, is the son of George and Kim Ralston. He has played four years of baseball for the Bobcats. He has also been on the honor roll at GHS for four years. After graduation, Ralston plans to attend Georgia Southern University and major in business.

Dylan Hatcher, #7 for the Bobcats, is the son of John and Jennifer Cook. He has played four years of baseball for the Bobcats and also has been on the honor roll at GHS for four years. After graduation, Hatcher plans to attend college and major in finance, which he will use to pursue a career in wealth asset management and financial advising.

Tyler Jarrard, #11 for the Bobcats, is the son of Drexell Staley and Misty Jarrard. He has played four years of baseball for the Bobcats, wrestled for three years and played football for one year. Jarrard has also received the Georgia Department of Education Excellence in Achievement Award. After graduation, he plans to join the Marines.

Avery Sirmans, #16 for the Bobcats, is the son of David and Alana Sirmans. He has played baseball for four years for the Bobcats. Sirmans was an All-Region Honorable Mention his sophomore year, has wrestled for three years and played one year of football. He has been a member of both the FCA and Beta club for two years. After graduation, Sirmans plans to walk on to a junior college and major in sports medicine.

Chad Watkins, #23 for the Bobcats, is the son of Ronald and Tina Watkins. He has played baseball for four years for the Bobcats, as well as football for three years. Watkins was an Honorable Mention in Pitching his freshman and sophomore year, named as a Player to Watch by the Dugout Club of Region 7-4A and was a Second-Team Defensive Back during his junior year of football. After graduation, he plans to play college baseball and major in business.
