Mrs. Dessie Lee Whitaker Worley age 78 of Ellijay, GA died Thursday April 28, 2016.

Mrs. Worley was born February 7, 1938 in Gilmer County the daughter of the late Theodore and Jessie Mae Pless Whitaker. She was a homemaker and member of the River Hill Baptist Church. Her parents, husband Grover Worley, brothers, Sammy, Frank Whitaker, sisters; Jean Weeks, Florence Chapman and Betty Carroll preceded her in death.

Survivors include, Son: Billy Worley of Ellijay, Daughters: Brenda Hensley of Dalton, Barbara Cain of Ellijay, Bonnie Owens of Carrollton Ga, Betty Walz of Epworth Ga, Benita Payne of Chatsworth Ga and Bobbie Patterson of Cherry Log Ga., sisters, Irene Rogers of Atlanta, Wanda Patterson of Ellijay, Sue Long, Jo Ann Cowart both of Chatsworth Ga, one Brother Johnny Whitaker of Ellijay, 11 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday May 1, 2016 at 2:00pm from River Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Cantrell officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Saturday April 30, 2016 from 3 until 9pm at the funeral home.
