Mrs. Doris Christopher Ellis, age 82, of Cumming, GA, passed from this life, Saturday April 30, 2016.

Mrs. Ellis was born September, 3, 1933 in Gwinnett County the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Hattie Moore Christopher. She was a Milton High School graduate, Class of 1951, a homemaker, founding member of the Greenwood Acres Garden Club and member of the Concord Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved brothers and sisters, John L. Christopher (Florence), Larry Christopher (Nettie), Alice Neisler (Weldon), Elmira Poss (VJ. “Chick”), and Esther Poss. Brother-in-law; Gene Ellis (Sybil Ellis Rogers) sister’s-in-law: Geneva Weaver (Arlen), Gertha Southern (John B. Southern).

Survivors include: husband of 58 years Clinton N. Ellis, son, Joseph C. Ellis (Lynn), granddaughters Chrissy Jones and Nikole Blackstone, daughter; Hope Cantrell (Eddie) and grandson Tyler, 2 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Lorri Christopher, Pauline Ellis and “special daughter” Merri Pouncey (Mark), grandchildren, Kristin Pouncey Nolan and Timothy Pouncey, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at 3:00pm from the Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Scott Chastain officiating.

The family will meet with friends Tuesday May 3, 2016 from 5 until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
