Miss Mabel M. Mathis, age 84, of Ellijay, died Friday May 13, 2016.
Miss Mathis was born January 15, 1932, in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Homer and Velva Lowman Mathis. She worked for Robertshaw Controls and was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ranell Mathis.
Survivors include: sister: Mavis Edmondson, Ellijay, brothers and sisters-in-law: Roy and Sara Mathis, Mableton, Reggie L. Mathis, Rossville, Ronnie and Tina Mathis, Clarkesville, Ruel and Becky Mathis, Mableton several nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Cantrell, Rev. Ryan Wilson and Rev. Steven Chapman officiating. Interment will be in the New Liberty Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Sunday from 2pm until 9pm at the funeral home.
