The 2016 Summer Reading Program (SRP) started 5/20/2016 and concludes 7/29/2016. SRP is for all age groups not just children. GCL will host fun, exciting events and programs for all ages throughout this summer. Check our Facebook page for details.
*Beginning July 1, 2016, GCL’s new operating hours on Fridays and Saturdays will be 9AM-6PM. Operating hours on Mondays thru Thursdays will be remain from 9AM-8PM.

Storytime

“Go For the Gold!” – Family story times are designed for families with children of all ages. Story time is followed by a craft activity. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Tuesday, July 5 @ 3:00 PM
Craft-It Tuesday – Mini Foosball Table
Kids 7-11 are invited to come get crafty. We will have a different craft each week. See the library for more information.

Live Reptiles

Our friends from Amicalola Falls State Park are back again! This year, they are bringing with them some of our local, cold-blooded creatures. This is a great opportunity to see snakes, lizards, and other reptiles up close. Fun for the whole family!
Pokemon Party
Friday, July 8 @ 11:00 AM
Tweens can come join other Pokémon fans and make crafts and do activities inspired by the popular game Pokémon. Gotta Catch ‘Em All!
Lego Club
Saturday, July 9 @ 2:00 PM
Lego creations are so cool. Lego Club has a different theme each month. Children can work alone or in teams to make their own special creation, which will be displayed at the library until the next month’s meeting.
The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

FOGL sells gently used books and magazines in The BookShelf. Most books are priced at $2 or less. All book sale proceeds directly benefits the Gilmer County Library through new book purchases and program funding.
