Mr. Donald L. Talbert, age 78, of Talking Rock, died Friday July 8, 2016.

Mr. Talbert was born, May 13,1938 in Ohio, the son of the late Allan E. and Shirley B. Talbert. After graduating high school, he joined the US Navy and retired after 30 yrs, at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ellijay.

Survivors include Wife; Martha S. Talbert, Son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Joy Mentzel, Hyattvilles, Maryland, Daughter-and son-in-law’s; Angela and Michael Berndt, Woodstock, Mary and Ryan O’Neal, Ellijay, Brother; Allan R. Talbert, Arizona along with 4 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:30am from the Georgia National Cemetery with military rites the US Navy.

The family will meet with friends Monday from 6 until 8pm at the funeral home.
