Donna Freeman Olander of the Buckhorn Estates community in Ellijay, Georgia passed away in her home on Friday morning, August 12, 2016.

Donna was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to her late parents H.L. (Bill) and Verna Greenlee Freeman.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Delisa and Shannan Olander, both of Ellijay, GA; her son and daughter-in-law, Randolph and Panitha Olander and grandchildren Magen and Thailer Olander of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Rose Ann Cole of Decatur, GA; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Freeman of Little Rock, AR; along with nieces and nephew. Donna was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kirsten Olander.

Donna attended Texas Tech University and went on to travel the world as a stewardess with National Airlines. She continued her career as a teacher and a paralegal and retired to the mountains in Ellijay, GA. Donna enjoyed traveling the Blue Ridge mountains and Chattahoochee National Forest, with the Amicalola Falls holding a special place in her heart. Donna deeply loved her puppies, enjoyed playing the piano and was an amazing gardener.

Upon moving to the mountains, Donna became a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. The peace and comfort she found within her church was only surpassed by her love for God and joy in Christ Jesus. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Blue Ridge, GA on August 27, 2016 at 11:00am. Donna’s ashes will be interred at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her beloved church.
