Mrs. Carole Kaye Keener, of East Ellijay, passed away Monday August 22, 2016.

Mrs. Keener was born January 23,1948 in Gilmer county the daughter of the late Boyd & Azzie Fouts Waters. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School, a homemaker and a member of East Ellijay Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by husband Fred Keener and sister Susie Waters West.

She is survived by her son, Tim Keener of Canton, and daughter and son-in-law, Melissa & Tom Ocobock of East Ellijay, as well as 4 grandchildren, Ryan & Payton Ocobock, Regan & Noah Keener. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday August 25,2016 at 11am from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home, Rev. Chad Kelley, Rev. Jess Posey and Rev. Emuel Sanford officiating. Interment will follow at East Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 24,2016 from 2pm until 9pm at Bernhardt Funeral Home
