Mr. Charles Gilbert Rainwater, age 76 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Monday, October 24, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Rainwater was born May 14, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee to his late parents George Goodwin Rainwater and Inez Tyson Rainwater. He graduated from Douglas County High School and retired from Xerox. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gail Allums Rainwater and brother Thomas Rainwater.

He is survived by his companion, Francis Griner of Ellijay, GA; sons, Dr. Gregory Todd Rainwater of Rockmart, GA, Grant and June Rainwater of Powder Springs, GA, and Gary and Kellie Rainwater of Conyers, GA; Grandchildren, Zachary, Emalyn, Abigail, Anna, Corban and Cooper Rainwater; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Charlotte Rainwater of Douglasville, GA and Ronald and Sheryl Rainwater of Powder Springs, GA; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Local Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 27th, 2016 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Thom Shore officiating. Music will be by Paul Campbell. Military graveside service will immediately follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with military rites performed by the North GA Honor Guard.

A second memorial service will be held at 2PM on Friday, October 28th, 2016 from the Lithia Springs First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Merk officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 12 noon until the service hour at 2PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Calvary Children’s Home at 1430 Lost Mtn. Road Powder Springs, GA 30127 in memory of Mr. Rainwater.
