Mr. Charles Leon Ray, age 75 of Ellijay, GA, passed on November 24th, 2016, at Seasons Hospice in Cumming, Georgia.

Mr. Ray was born August 6, 1941 in Tate, Georgia to his late parents Fred William and Edith Juanita Bradburn Ray. He was a member of River Hill Baptist Church and worked for J.C. Sanford Construction as a heavy equipment operator. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Worley Ray, sister, Betty Ray Pinson, and special friend Helen Abernathy.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Diane Ray of Ellijay, GA, Carol Ray Crotzer of Jasper, GA, Rhonda and Mike Chastain of Jasper, GA and Kelly and Alan Holt of Ellijay, GA; Grandchildren, Misty Duggan, Chris Logan, Brooklyn Hamilton, Jade Crotzer, Nolan Webster, Seth Crotzer, Slade Holt, Khloe Holt, Sophie Holt and McKenly Holt; Great grandchildren, Noah Duggan, Bailey Duggan, Mila Nance and Hadley Hamilton; Sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Wesley Thorton of Elizabethton, TN, Kathy Ray Smith of Ellijay, GA, Vicki Maddox of Ellijay, GA and Anita Bishop of Murrayville, GA; Brothers and sister-in-law, Billy Ray and Joe and Debra Ray, all of Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 27th, 2016 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Scott and Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Music and vocals will be by Anthony Lowman. Interment will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Seth Crotzer, Chris Logan, Nolan Webster, Mason Beavers, Justin Duggan, Kyser Hamilton, Tanner Beavers and Leon Beavers.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Logan Funeral Home.
