What Will Trump Do?

Opinion

Opinion by George McClellan:

Presently, two questions surrounding Trump’s transition constantly rise to the fore and nobody but Trump really knows the answers. First: Who will Trump select for Secretary of State? Answer: I haven’t a clue. Only Trump knows. Second: Will Trump interfere with the course of justice concerning Hillary Clinton’s offenses, thus telling Americans there really is a two tier system of justice, those who must obey the law and those that can ignore it at their leisure.

Hillary’s offenses are too severe, too serious and far too damaging to America’s proper running of government that they cannot be simply ignored because Trump wants to ignore them. By doing so he puts himself in the same “favored class” as the Clinton’s put themselves.

Prosecuting Hillary could be risky but not doing so will even be riskier for Trump and the Republican Party. Americans just participated in a game changing election, in effect throwing the bums out. The American people expect to see American justice properly meted out to the Clintons, like would happen to any other offender of the law. And, she did offend the law!

Obama will doubtless issue her a pardon even before charges are made, because any public trial would reveal his complicity in her high crimes and misdemeanors. But, it would also confirm her guilt changing her alleged crimes into realities. That doesn’t stop NYPD from continuing their fraud investigations into the Clinton Foundation and that will doubtless proceed apace.

Hillary’s punishable criminal acts include perjury, destruction of subpoenaed evidence, and mishandling of TS/SCI classified documents. Bribery, her pay for play scheme, could be included as is taking payments from foreign potentates without registering as an agent of a foreign power. Her clumsy and deadly foreign policy machinations will never be punished because stupidity is not a crime. Crimes usually fall under the categories of acts of commission or acts of omission. That’s for Trump’s new AG and the fired up FBI to work out.

Hillary’s case must be pursued simply as a deterrent to other “wanna-be” politicians who think they can enrich themselves at taxpayers expense because they are above the law, not by virtue of their achievements but by who they think they are. That silly thinking must be stamped out and Hillary and the Clinton Foundation, is the best chance we’ll ever have for showing Americans that there is real justice under the Constitution.

Trump must remain silent on this issue. No “Tweets”, no off the cuff comments or publicly shifting positions on the process. He must simply say let the gears of justice work the way their supposed to and he can make a comment after her trial(s). In any event, the best that could come out of this process is to turn loose the lawyers and let them suck her purse dry.

There are other people in danger of facing federal justice as well. They specifically include the IRS leaders and other government agencies who flouted the Constitution in order to enact Obama’s unconstitutional edicts. “I was just following orders” is no longer a defense.

This pursuit of justice must appear impartial. The guilty must be held accountable and the new DoJ must complete as thorough an investigation as possible. Trump can pardon or commute but he cannot interfere. Let the chips fall where they may. Hillary rolled the dice and they came up snake eyes. Justice will be served. It must be served.

Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (29 Nov 2016)
