Mrs. Cathy J. Hyatt, age 65 of Ellijay died Tuesday December 13, 2016.

Mrs. Hyatt was born Nov. 23, 1951, in Gilmer County the daughter of the Lexie Weaver and the late Crate Weaver. She was a Gilmer High and Pickens Tech graduate, retired from the Gilmer County School System where she had worked in the Office at Gilmer High School for number of years, and was a member of the Tickanetley Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include: husband, Doug Hyatt, son and daughter-in-law; Michael and Kathy Hyatt, Jasper, daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Michael Fonseca, Powder Springs, mother, Lexie Weaver, Ellijay, 2 grandchildren, Isabella and Evan Fonseca, brothers; Hollis and Hugh Weaver, both of Ellijay, sisters; Joyce Williams, Dalton, Doris Rutledge, Dorothy Weaver, and Judy Wright all of Ellijay, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral; services will be held Friday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Elder Paul Mooney, Elder Kelly Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Hyatt Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Thursday from 4 until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
