Mr. James Richard “Jim” Pack, Sr., age 79, of Ellijay, died Thursday January 12, 2017.

Mr. Pack was born October 12, 1937 in Gordon County the son of the late Fred and Viola Bearden Pack. He was a graduate of Red Bud High School, a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and retired from United Community Bank. He is preceded in death by parents, son, Jim Pack and grandson, Dawson Pack.

Survivors include: wife of 59 years, Jeri Pack , son and daughter-in-law: Rev. Mitchell and Katie Pack, Ellijay, daughter and son-in-law; Angela and Jeff Barbic, Hilton Head, SC. 5 grandchildren; Candace Hill, Amber Pack, Dustin Pack, Kayla Easley, Brooklyn Pack, 4 great-grandchildren, Olivia Hill, Madeline Hill, Wyatt Pack and Kolby Pack, brother; Robert Pack, Calhoun along with nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00pm from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Bearden, Rev. Rubin Smith, Rev. Dan Rosser and Rev. Russell Hood officiating.

Interment will be in the Turniptown Church cemetery. Flowers are accepted or donations may be to Turniptown cemetery fund.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 4 until 9pm at the funeral home.
