Mr. Edgar E. “Ed” Daughtery: Obituary

Entered into our heavenly home of God on March 10, 2017. He was dearly loved by his wife of 49 years Janet Daugherty, daughter Sheila Stanford and son-in-law David Stanford. Other immediate family was his sister of Acworth, GA Jenny Daugherty with Charlotte and brother from Greenfield, IN Paul Daugherty and father Clifford Daugherty. He loved all of his friends in Ellijay and they were his family also. He loves his cherished pets, in heaven with him. Mitzie the poodle, Chiquito a Chihuahua, Dakota a poodle and Angel the min-pin. Though incoherent, he asked to see a new min-pin puppy “Zorro”. Once in hospice, he got that request and opened his eyes to kisses from a new loving pet. Also, this wouldn’t be complete without mentioning a special cat that came to the Dougherty family and wouldn’t go away, maybe an angel sent from heaven.

Ed never met a stranger he didn’t love. He loved everybody that crossed his path. He had so many friends that were like his family. He was full of life and loved to go to the beach and everywhere else. Ed and Janet traveled the USA together, through the Dakotas, Plains, Grand Canyon, Redwoods……. Everywhere they could explore and live life together. God bless our beloved husband, father, friend, patriot, teacher, smart&%$#@ and lover of life.
