Mr. Wendell Lee Land, age 74, of Ellijay died, Tuesday June 20, 2017.

Mr. Land was born April 16, 1943, in Gilmer County, the son of the late Rev. Ernest and Dora Chastain Land. He worked for many years in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant (Buckhorn) Baptist Church. His parents, and brother, Ernest J. Land, Jr., preceded him in death.

Survivors include; Wife: Charlotte Davis Land, Brothers and sisters-in-law: Rev. Ed and Barbara Land, McCaysville, Melvin and Kim Land, Ellijay, Harold and Virginia Land, Hiawassee, Special brother, Larry and Eileen Watson, Blue Ridge, Sister-in-law: Yvonne Land, Dalton, Sisters and brother-in law: Linda and Ronald Hyde, Ellijay, Betty Allen, Ellijay, Mother-in-law: Margaret Davis, Mineral Bluff, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 22, 2017 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Gilbert officiating. Music will be by Ronald and Linda Hyde and Thelma Champion. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant (Buckhorn) Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Thursday from 10:00am until 2:00pm at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to help with funeral expenses, they also request no food be brought to the funeral home.
