Kathie Marie Hess Bishop, age 56, of Talking Rock, GA and previously from Dayton, OH, passed away on 10-25-17 after a year long struggle from injuries in a head-on collision.

Kathie is predeceased by her parents, Oden and Betty Vaughn.  Also predeceased by sister-in-law Kelly Hess. She is survived by her best friend and long time companion Dean Crump, her children, Adam & Misty Bishop of Ellijay, Michael & Lenna Tallent of Chatsworth , and Tosha & Jason Cruse of Ellijay.  She is suvrived by four grandchildren, Cory and Sophia Cruse, and Sarah and Alex Tallent.  She is also survived by brothers and sisters Mike Hess of Acworth, David & Brenda Hess TX, Becky & Jim Hitzeman Tx , Linda & Frank Lopez NM, and Kenny & Kelly Vaughn OH.   She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Kathie loved the Georgia Bulldogs, taking care of her grandchildren and  had a great sense of humor right up to the end.

The viewing and funeral will be at the Bernhardt Funeral Home with Brother Doyle Wheeling officiating.  Family and friends can meet to pay respects to Kathie at the viewing on November 2, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 p.m.  The funeral will be held on November 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Kathie will be laid to rest immediately after the funeral in the Nine Mile United Methodist Church Cemetery
