Mr. Arthur Lee Cagle, age 60 of Ellijay, Ga passed Friday morning, September 28, 2018 at his home after an extended illness.
Lee was born November 13, 1957 in Ellijay to his late parents Dr. Arthur Lee Cagle, Jr. and Virginia Eppinger Cagle. He graduated from Gilmer High School and also the Atlanta Art Institute and Young Harris College. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. He enlisted September 11, 1980, trained in Ft. Benning , GA later assigned 2/503 with the 101st Air Assault Division in Ft. Campbell, KY. After his discharge he was employed by Osmos and later on worked as a lineman for Georgia Power. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking, and the peace found in God’s creation. He instilled a love of the outdoors, in his two sons and that love will be passed down to generations to come. He loved his six grandchildren and enjoyed spending time playing with and watching them grow.
Survivors include his wife: Abbie Reece Cagle of the home, children and spouses, Arthur Lee Cagle IV and Ana of Ellijay, Ian Caleb Cagle and Misty of Dahlonega, GA, six grandchildren; Aubrey, Macey, Emma, Piper, Maddox and Kingsley, brothers and spouses, Barry and Kim Cagle, Ellijay, Chris and Faith Cagle, Canton, sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Barry Reynolds and sister, Lisa Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday October 2, 2018 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Sutton officiating and Fred Norris giving the eulogy. Interment will be in the Ellijay City cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Army.
The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 12 noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
