Born in Gilmer County, Georgia on 11/12/1924 to Ed and Mamie Searcy (Mamie Lee Griffin)

Graduated Ellijay High School: class of 1945 and attended Young Harris College

Licensed practical nurse, real estate agent, talented seamstress and avid fisherman

Survived by brothers Jim Searcy and Bill Searcy, by twin sister Ruth Helton, and by children:

Son: Fred Reece of Atlanta, Ga (father: F.A. Reece);

Daughter: Beth (Steve) Warner of Danielsville, Ga (father: Joseph Winston McCorkle);

Grandsons: Xavier McCorkle and Joe McCorkle of Summerville, S.C. (sons of Ruby’s deceased son Mitchell McCorkle of Ft. George Island, Fla)

Funeral services for Ruby Searcy Hail to be held at Bernhardt Funeral Home in Ellijay, Ga.

Same Day Visitation and Funeral Service: Thursday, March 7, 2019

* Visitation: 11:00 – 1:00 at Bernhardt Chapel, 163 River St. Ellijay GA 30540 (706-635-4325)

* Funeral Service: 1:00 at Bernhardt Chapel to be followed immediately by graveside service at Upper Cherry Log Baptist Church Cemetery, off Highway 515
