FROM THE DESK OF THE SHERIFF

The Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation jointly began a death investigation at a location in Cherry Log, Georgia on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. We DO NOT feel that there is a current threat to our citizens in the area.

This release will be updated at a point in the future when it will not jeopardize the ongoing investigation. At this time, this is all of the information that we can release.
