Ellijay, Ga- Last week, the Gilmer Men’s Varsity Soccer team rattled off back to back wins against Dawson County and North Hall, and clinched a spot in the 2021-2022 State Playoffs.

The Bobcats will finish third in Region 7AAA, behind West Hall and East Forsyth. They currently sit at 8-4-1 on the year, but have matchs with Lumpkin County and LFO left on their schedule to finish out the regular season.

The Gilmer defense has been the name of the game this year (of their 8 wins, 6 of them have been shutouts). They are currently outscoring opponents 28-14 on the year and are really rounding out into form as the regular season comes to an end.
