Gilmer Uses 6-run 3rd to Pull Away in This One

The Bobcats won 11-4 behind explosive bats and a dominant start from Ethan McCollum. The Bobcats bats got going in this one after scoring just one run against Fannin on Monday night. M Patton had a rough start for the Panthers and his offense did not do enough to bail him out. Gilmer now sits at 5-4 on the year after this big win.

Game Notes

Union County totaled six hits in this one with Kaden Combs leading the team with two RBIs. Moses Stevens and Hayden Hughes also notched one RBI each in this one. The Panthers struck out 12 times at the plate in this one. They committed three errors in the field resulting in two unearned runs. On the mound, the Panther pitching struggled mightily as all four pitches were responsible for at least one earned run. Hunter Fleming was roughed up allowing four earned runs on five hits and one BB while recording just one out. Union pitchers walked seven hitters in this one. The Panthers struggled in every facet of this one and now falls to 0-11 on the year.

McCollum was dealing on the mound today going five innings allowing just four hits, one ER while striking out 10. Brock Titus was roughed up a bit in relief allowing two earned runs in one inning of work. Brandon Davis and Aiden McClure led the team with three hits each with Eli Cooper leading the team with three RBIs. Gilmer totaled 14 hits in this one as they dominated the Union County pitching.
