Gilmer County got the best of Fannin County in girls basketball on Monday by a score of 57-38.

The Lady Cats defense was smothering, as they forced the Lady Rebels to turn the ball over 17 times. Gilmer played old-school basketball against their 515 rival, grabbing rebounds and scoring points in the paint. Only 12 of the Lady Cats points came from beyond the arc, and only 3 came at the free throw line. The rest were hard-earned points down under the basket.

Reese Lewis was the lone bright spot for Fannin, scoring 10 points and grabbing 13 boards.
