David George Mullinax, age 64, of the Flat Branch Community, Ellijay, Ga. passed from this life on Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 after a brief illness. Mr. Mullinax is a member of Northcutt Baptist Church, born November 20th, 1946 to his late parents James Delmer and Dorothy Dotson Mullinax in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Ga. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School, Class of 1964, and a retiree of the Georgia State Patrol. He is preceded in death by son David Henry Mullinax.

Survivors include wife of 42 years, Diane Low Mullinax of the home in Ellijay, Ga.; daughter Susan Mullinax Jackson of Talking Rock, Ga.; grandson E.J. Jackson also of Talking Rock, Ga.; sisters and brother-in-law June and Garvin Davis of Ellijay, Ga., Wanda Mullinax Pankey of Ellijay, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Lynda Mullinax of Ellijay, Ga.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 19th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Greenwald, Rev. Larry Bennett and Rev. Carroll Holbrooks officiating, song by Lynn Hall. Interment will follow in the Northcutt Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Low, Sam Low, Tim Duvall, Jerry Low, Richard Howell, Jeff Earwood, Joshua Low, Jamie Mullinax, Jody Mullinax, Chuck Pankey, Marty Pitts and Jack Mullinax. Honorary Pallbearers will be employees, present and past, of the Georgia State Patrol.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p. at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
