Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office Captain Leeman Henry Announced His Retirement

Sheriff Stacy Nicholson releases the following information:
Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office Captain Leeman Henry announced his retirement which was effective May 31, 2011. Captain Henry retired after 30 years of law enforcement service to the North Georgia area. He began his career in 1981 with the Blue Ridge Police Department and then worked a number of years for Fannin County Sheriff’s Office. He later became the Chief of Police of Blue Ridge and has been a Captain with the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office for approximately the last 12 years.
Captain Henry’s service was honored on May 26th, 2011 at the Board of Commissioner’s meeting where he was presented a plaque by Sheriff Stacy Nicholson. A reception was held on May 27th, 2011 where many co-workers, friends, and family attended the celebration of Captain Henry’s exemplary career.
During the May 26th presentation of Captain Henry’s plaque, Sheriff Nicholson also recognized “three generations of Henrys” working with the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office: Captain Leeman Henry, his son Captain Ricky Henry, and his grandson Sgt. Justin Henry, all pictured
