Gilmer County Swim Team Showcase
Community, Team FYN Sports July 5, 2011
The Gilmer County Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the Gilmer County Swim Team invited the public out to say, “thank you,” and showcase the youth swim team.The event featured members of the swim team performing in relay races preceded by a brief ceremony.

The ceremony began with a prayer by Mark Woodring. The welcome was provided by Jody Cantrell, head of the Gilmer County Parks and Recreation Department. Eb Reece gave a rousing rendition of the National Anthem. The swim team introductions and relays were presided over by Larry Lykins.
The relays featured different swim styles such as the backstroke and breaststroke, and allowed the children to show the public what they have been working on.
The next home swim meet will be an invitational July 16th at 8am.
