Ronald Charles Huster, age 60, of Ellijay, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 after battling pancreatic cancer.
He was born on May 26, 1951 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America. A graduate of Lutheran High School South in Saint Louis, Missouri, he received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla, Missouri in 1973. He followed this with a Master of Engineering Administration from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois in 1981.
He was employed with Professional Service Industries, Inc. for 22 years. During this time he also served as an instructor with the Dale Carnegie Institute, Atlanta, Georgia. He followed this by owning his own engineering firm, Wagner-Huster Engineers, Atlanta, Georgia from 1996-1999. He completed his engineering career with Ahlberg Engineering, Inc., Marietta, Georgia from 1999 to 2005.
In semi-retirement, Ron served as the Operations manager for the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, Blue Ridge, Georgia fro 2007 to 2011. He also volunteered and worked part time at Whitepath Golf Course, Ellijay, Georgia from 2009 to 2011.
He was an avid golfer and amateur photographer. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Ellijay, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Ruth Huster. He is survived by Laura Vestal Huster, his wife of 23 years.
His memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Hope Lutheran Church in Ellijay, Georgia with Pastor David Smedley officiating.
The family will meet with friends following the service at the church.
