Bert Garfield Banks, Sr. age 81, of Ellijay, GA passed Friday morning. July 6th, 2012 from his residence.Survivors include his wife of 59 years Winnie Bell Sanford Banks of the home in Ellijay, son and daughter-in-law; B.G. and Yelanda Banks of Ellijay, grandchildren and in-laws; Brent and Alena Banks, Adrian and Darian Barnes, Bart and Casey Banks, all of Ellijay, 5 great grandchildren, sisters; Odell Clark of Gainesville, GA and Cassie Sue Smith of Ellijay, brothers; Vernon Banks of Chatsworth, GA and Tray Banks of Ellijay.

Mr. Banks is preceded in death by daughter Loretta Banks.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8th, 2012 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Hosenback, Rev. Sammy Adams and Rev. Jerry Banks will be officiating. Military graveside service will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with military rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment service will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7th from 2 until 9:00 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home.
