Gilmer County, GA ­ The Gilmer County Board of Commissioners is currently moving forward with the opening of the Community Pool. The Board will accept that they are losing water every day due to the current leaks, but feels the best action is to open the pool for the community as scheduled.However, they have further called out for any and all available members of the community to appear at a meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 6:30pm in the Jury Assembly Room, in order to voice public opinion on how to move forward with the pool. They are considering all options including repairing the pool, completely retiring it, or replacing it with a new one.
Chairman Paris himself said he doesn’t really use the pool, so they have to hear from the people who do use it to decide what to do. We at Fetch Your News have already asked for your opinions, so if you have not already, navigate to your Gilmer Home Page and answer our poll at the bottom.

PUBLIC COMMENTS TO BE HEARD ON THE FUTURE OF THE GILMER COUNTY SWIMMING POOL
The Gilmer County Swimming Pool has passed its expected life span. It is leaking badly, and more very expensive repairs are anticipated.
We need your input on the options available to us. Whether you favor building a new pool, or are just fine with shutting it down and having no pool – or anything in between. Please attend our public comment meeting on Wednesday, May 20th at 6:30 pm in the Jury Assembly room which is located on the 2nd floor of the Gilmer County Courthouse.
This meeting is sponsored by the Gilmer County Board of Commissioners, and a quorum of Commissioners will be present.
