The polling is closed and the results tallied for the Run-off Election for the Ellijay City Council.

Winning the remaining two seats on the City Council are:

Lynelle Reece Stewart with 81 votes.
Katie Lancey with 71 votes.

The remaining two candidates garnered:

William Jerry Baxter with 70 votes.
Roy “Smitty” Smith with 69 votes.

Take time to stop and notice that three of these candidates were within one vote of each other. If ever there was a time for the old saying “Every Vote Counts,” this is it. These votes from early voting and election day voting came within 1 vote.

You see large numbers of votes, but this election was decided by one person, you who voted.
