The 2016 Summer Reading Program (SRP) started 5/20/2016 and concludes 7/29/2016.  SRP is for all age groups not just children. GCL will host fun, exciting events and programs for all ages throughout this summer. Check our Facebook page for details.

Lego MindStorm Robots

Create, build, control and play with LEGO Robotics. You tear them apart and build them back up. These robots are massive fun. This program is for ages 9-16. Registration is required. Call 706-635-4528 to register. This program is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to Georgia Public Library Service under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.

Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, May 25 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library.  Already know how to knit, come for the fun! Its OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color. This is a “drop in when you can” event.
Exorcise Your Mind

Paranormal Georgia Investigations: Exorcise Your Mind – Changing minds about how we perceive the paranormal. Media outlets often make us fear the worst, while the reality is much different. Also the investigators, using a case study a case on the Queen Mary in California, as an example will talk about how the power of the mind can create hauntings. Light refreshments will be available.
The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

Car, trains, boats, and planes! This is a “wow” collection of big, beautiful collector’s books. Perfect for a Fathers’ Day gift or for yourself!
Remember that the library welcomes donations of gently read books and magazines. Donations the library doesn’t need go to the Bookshelf, with all the proceeds benefiting the library. Don’t forget to visit the “back room” of the Bookshelf for newly stocked non-fiction and magazines.
