Join us for this week’s story “Buried Treasure!” All ages welcome. Family Story Time is an excellent ways to strengthen your children’s literacy skills, and all stories are always followed by a simple craft you can complete with your child.
Reading Dogs

Children 6 years of age and older can read to a therapy dog who won’t laugh if mistakes are made or the reader stumbles.

Talk Like a Pirate Day

Ye want t’ be a pirate aye? Well, join us and put together some pirate crafts and play Pirate Flux. Grades 6-12.

Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, September 21 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Lauren Cape and Lynda Decker will be your host and teacher. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! It’s OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color
Hiking Amicalola
Thursday, September 22 @ 6:00 PM
Ranger Heather Wilson from Amicalola Falls State Park will discuss what it’s like to hike through and around the state park and other activities you can do at the park. Also she will explain how the park locates a lost hiker. Refreshments will be served by the Friends of the Library.
The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

The week’s special at the Bookshelf features the Boys of Summer. You’ll find biographies, history, autobiographies, fact and fiction, everything about baseball on the center shelf inside the Bookshelf.
Remember that the library welcomes donations of gently read books and magazines. Those that the library doesn’t need come to the Bookshelf, with all the proceeds benefiting the library. Don’t forget to visit the “back room” of the Bookshelf for newly stocked non-fiction and magazines.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays
