From the Gilmer County EMA The national weather service has confirmed a tornado hit Gilmer County this week. Confirmed EF1 Tornado 1.7 mile long path. Clusters of thunderstorms moved across parts of North Georgia Thursday evening. High winds brought down trees and power lines, leaving thousands of North Georgia residents without power.
