Mr. James Cooledge Morris age 86 of Poplar St. Ellijay died Tuesday November 22, 2011.

Mr. Morris was born on March 15, 1925 in Mt. Zion, GA. He is the son of the late Louis Franklin Morris & Maude Cantrell Morris. He was an interior decorator for Ethan Allen, a veteran of the US Navy during WWII, and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Ranbourne, AL . Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Bishop, Edna Watson, and Gladys Shelott, and brothers Buel Morris, I.N. Morris, and Woodrow Morris.

Survivors include: Wife: Mattie Sanford Morris, of the home Daughters and son-in-law: Joy and Robert Russell of Ellijay Angeleta Sanford, Villa Rica Sons: Rev. Emuel and Doris Sanford, Ellijay Ricky Sanford, Ellijay 7 grandchildren 11 Great grandchildren Brother-in-law: C.B. Keck, Vero Beach, FL Special friend: Ed Jones, Douglasville, GA. Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday November 25, 2011 at 2pm from the Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Emuel Sanford, Rev. Darrell Jones, and Rev. Russell Hood officiating. Interment will be held in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday, November 24 from 4pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
