Mrs. Margaret C. Cowart age 90 of Ellijay died Tuesday October 23, 2012.

Mrs. Cowart was born on June 4, 1922 in Conyers, GA. She is the daughter of the late Bill Coursey and Viola Payne Coursey. She was an LPN for Watkins Memorial Hospital and was of the Baptist Faith. She is preceded in death by her husband William S. Cowart, a grandson Scott McCart and a brother Howard Coursey.

Survivors include: Daughters: Malinda E. Payne & Elaine McDaniel both of Ellijay; Son & daughter-in-law: Charles & Ruth McCart, Social Circle, GA; 9 Grandchildren: Steven Burch, Billy McCart, Robbie Watts, Allen Bragg, Mike McCart, Keneta Mandron, Katrina Browing, Maggie Sullivan and Les Bragg.; 24 Great grandchildren, 7 Great-great grandchildren; Brother: Lamar Coursey, Lawrenceville, GA; Several nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 26, 2012 at 2pm from the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Lamar Long officiating.

Interment will be held in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday October 25th from 4pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
