On Friday, October 26th, Ellijay Primary School celebrated its annual fall festival fundraiser. At the festival, students and their parents were treated to such fun fundraising events including face painting, line dancing, jump houses, a hay ride and a cake walk.

Winning Pumpkin of “Charlotte’s Web” from Mrs. Cathy Gregory’s class.

Classes from Ellijay Primary School also participated in the festival by competing in a children’s story book character penny war, where each class had to display a pumpkin as a character from a specific story book. Winning the contest this year was: First Place Mrs. Cathy Gregory’s class, 2nd Place Christy Keown’s class, and 3rd Place Karry Burnette’s class. The three classrooms will each receive free slushies on Friday as their award, and the total money raised for the decorated pumpkin contest was $539.74.

Overall, Principal of Ellijay Primary School Stephanie Burnette says of the fall festival,

“The fall festival at the Ellijay Primary School was a great success. The purpose of the fall festival was not only for a fundraiser but for an event to bring family and school together. Sometimes there is not enough time for family to participate during the school day, so it was a great time to get family on campus mixing and mingling with other parents, students, and teachers.”
