NEW “CUBBIES” FOR THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

Community

The Gilmer County Three Rivers Boys & Girls Club received much needed help recently to construct nearly fifty (50) new “cubbies” that will be used to store the backpacks, jackets and “stuff” belonging to Club kids coming to the facility daily. The construction of the cubbies was made possible by monetary support from Huff’s Drugs, Lowe’s and the donated labor of Jay Zimmerman and his crew (Delmer Green and Justin Blakely) of J & T Mountain Construction. The Club Kids have put the cubbies to use as each one stores the belongings of two children.
Every day during the school year over 80 children attend the Club, where they are provided with a safe and educational after-school experience, and get help with homework, learn the benefits of teamwork, exercise and good citizenship, as well as experience interaction with positive adult role models. The good work of the Club is made possible only through the generosity of individuals and corporate sponsors who care enough to “pitch in” whenever needed!
